Workout app without an account and without the cloud
Most training apps start with a registration. From then on your training history, your body weight and often your health data sit on a server you will never see. LeibFit takes the other route: no registration, no account, no server. What that means day to day — including everything that is good and everything that is inconvenient about it — is on this page.
What "on-device" actually means
- No account, no registration. No email address, no password, no confirmation mail. Download the app and go.
- No server. There is no place your workouts, your equipment or your health values get uploaded to.
- No analytics SDK inside the app. No third-party component recording what you do.
- Export at any time. Your data belongs to you, including when you decide to delete the app.
One note for the sake of honesty: this applies to the app. This website counts page views — cookie-free and without passing data to third parties; Google Analytics only runs if you agree in the banner. It is all set out in the privacy policy. The app does none of this.
The honest downside
If you do not build a cloud, you cannot offer anything that requires one. These are the three points you should know upfront:
- No sync between devices. Your history lives on one iPhone. A second device starts from zero.
- No web login. There is no web interface for looking at your data on a computer.
- Backups are on you. Without an iPhone backup there is no second copy if the device is lost — we simply do not hold one.
That is not an oversight, it is the price of the decision. Anyone who needs cross-device sync is better served by a cloud app, and we would rather say so before than after.
How a plan is built without the cloud
A training plan does not have to be created in a data centre. LeibFit offers two routes, and both end on your device:
- The AI coach. A few questions in a chat, and your weekly plan is there. The AI runs on the iPhone via Apple Intelligence — your answers never leave the device. It requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence and iOS 26.
- Build it yourself. Every exercise, every set, every rep, every weight, every rest interval. No AI, no requirements.
Important for context: the structure of the plan is calculated deterministically by the app — split, volume, repetition ranges and starting weights. The AI only picks exercises from a vetted database of 91 exercises, and only those that match the equipment you actually own. It invents neither exercises nor weights.
Why this matters for training data in particular
Training data says more than it appears to at first glance. Training times reveal a daily routine, gaps reveal an illness, weight progressions reveal more about your body than you probably want to share. Combined with HRV, resting heart rate and sleep, a fairly precise picture emerges. The simplest way to make sure nothing unwanted happens with it is for it never to leave the device.
Progression without a server
Progression needs no cloud either: if you complete all your repetitions, LeibFit suggests more weight next time. If your recovery is low, the increase waits — and the app writes down why. The suggestion is capped by your real equipment: if your heaviest dumbbell is 24 kg, nobody is going to suggest 26 kg.
When a cloud app is the better choice
- You want the same data on iPhone, iPad and in a browser.
- You train with a coach who should adjust your plan remotely.
- You want to share workouts or compare them in a community — LeibFit deliberately has no social features.
- You use Android. LeibFit is iPhone only, from iOS 17.6.
The recovery, sleep and load values in LeibFit are guidance for your training, not a medical diagnosis.
