Missing Apple Health data: trace the path
Missing values in a fitness app can have different causes. The wearable may not have recorded them, its companion app may not have transferred them, or the app displaying them may not be allowed to read them. Check those stages separately. That tells you whether the measurement is missing or an existing record simply has not reached its destination.
Start with the specific data type
Open Apple Health and look for the missing category, such as heart rate variability, resting heart rate or sleep. Check the date and time of the latest records. Recent step counts do not prove that HRV or sleep records are arriving too. Write down the exact category and day instead of treating everything as one syncing problem.
Separate recording from transfer
If the companion app has no record either, start with the wearable: was it worn, did it fit snugly, and was the relevant recording feature set up? If the record exists there but not in Health, check the companion app's Health integration. Which categories it writes to Health depends on the manufacturer. A working connection does not mean every category is exported. How to check this for a specific device is covered in Check wearable compatibility for recovery apps.
When the record is already in Health
Then the gap sits between Health and the app. In the Health app, open your profile, tap Apps under Privacy, then LeibFit. There you can see which categories the app may read. Inside LeibFit, "Manage in Apple Health" in your profile opens the Health app directly. Turn on only the categories you need.
One detail matters here: for privacy reasons, iOS does not tell an app whether read access was denied. To the app, a missing permission looks exactly like a day without measurements. So an app can only report "no data" at this point, not "no permission". Checking the setting yourself is the fastest way to rule it out.
Reinstalling an app or deleting your Health history is a poor first step. Your history matters for comparisons, and deleting it does not explain a missing current value.
Missing data is not a bad day
In LeibFit, a missing data basis is different from low recovery. To score recovery, the app needs a personal baseline from at least seven nights. On launch it reads back the last 30 days from Apple Health for that. If you have been wearing your watch at night for a while, you will usually see a score right away. Without that history, the app shows how many nights of the baseline are already in place instead of guessing a number.
If only one signal is missing, such as one night's HRV, Missing HRV explains how the app handles it. Where HRV records come from in the first place is covered in HRV app for iPhone without extra hardware.
Describe the gap clearly
For a support request, start with the device model, iOS version, app version, category and the stage where the record disappears. You do not need to share your complete health history for that.
Frequently asked questions
Why are steps present but recovery is missing?
Steps, HRV, resting heart rate and sleep are separate categories with separate permissions. One category arriving does not mean the others are available. Recovery mainly depends on sleep, HRV and resting heart rate from the night.
Should I delete Health records?
No. Start with the record's source, date and read access. Deleting changes your history and is not needed for this check.
